Fr. Peter McVerry, SJ in Tuam Cathedral

As part of Stage IV preparations for the International Eucharistic Congress, Fr. Peter McVerry S.J. was invited to speak in the diocese on The Eucharist and Social Justice.  Fr. McVerry is well known for his work with young homeless people and for his outspoken views on many social justice issues in Ireland.  The Cathedral of the Assumption Tuam was the venue for Fr. McVerry’s presentation on Friday March 2nd at 8.00 pm.  The presentation included a question and answer session.  Members of the Diocesan IEC Steering Group were available on the night to answer any queries regarding on the International Eucharistic Congress and to provide information and materials.  Light refreshments were served in St. Jarlath’s College adjacent to the Cathedral immediately after the presentation.
