Tuam Cathedral Webcam makes the news!

The interesting story of the popularity and success of the recently installed webcam in Tuam Cathedral was documented on RTE radio last Saturday morning by Frances Shanahan.  She did a series of interview with Fr. Sean Cunningham, Mr. David Quinn, Mrs. Honor Rattigan and Mrs. Geraldine Mannion on the installation, the technical details, the reasons for installation, the benefits, the results and also some of the criticisms of the new system.  The documentary drew lots of favourable comment on both twitter and facebook on Saturday morning.

Ceremonies can be viewed on the above link as they occur in the Cathedral.  It was particularly popular on Christmas morning, with many people abroad that could not come home logging in.  It is also popular for wedding and funerals and most of all for the elderly and housebound.

Congratulations and best wishes to the communications sub-committee in the parish that made the initiative possible.
