Prayers and Support for Farming Community

STATEMENT FROM ARCHBISHOP MICHAEL NEARY.

At this difficult time for farmers here, I wish, on behalf of the Archdiocese of Tuam, to express our solidarity with the farming community. I strongly endorse the request by the I.F.A. as below.

Due to the extreme weather conditions of last Summer and the very cold Spring, fodder shortage is prevalent in every parish.  I would ask farmers that have some spare fodder to reach out to their neighbours and offer for sale/loan or free some spare fodder to help get farmers through this very difficult time.

We hope and pray that the situation will soon improve.

With every good wish.
