Launch of Safeguarding Children Policy
The Diocesan Safeguarding Children Policy will be launched at centres througout the diocese over the coming weeks.
The revised policy, printed in book form and compliant with civil legislation (Children First 1999) and church guidelines (Safeguarding Children 2009), is now policy for all parishes of the diocese.
The launch of the policy will be accompanied by a workshop on the principleas of best practice and parishes have been asked to ensure that all personel, paid and voluntary who have regular contact with children in a church setting attend the presentation.
The launch will take place at 8pm at the following venues:

Weds March 10th Knock Knock House Hotel
Thurs March 11th Tuam Ard Rí House Hotel
Mon March 22nd Clifden Station House Hotel
Tues March 23rd Dunmore Dunmore Community School
Wed March 24th Ballinrobe Parish House, Ballinrobe
Thurs March 25th Castlebar Days Hotel, Castlebar
A charge of €60 per parish group will be collected on the night. Each parish group will receive 10 copies of the Safeguarding Children Policy.
